Professor Placide Mbala-Kingebeni, MD, PhD

Professor Placide Mbala-Kingebeni, a medical doctor and virologist, has contributed extensively to research studies and to managing outbreaks of zoonotic diseases, including Ebola and Mpox, under the guidance of Professor Muyembe. He currently leads the Epidemiology and Global Health Department as well as the Pathogen Genomics Laboratory at the National Institute for Biomedical Research (INRB).
